Technical Data

EMS is an environmental information management system designed to support organisations in the various phases of Environment Management.

The application is composed of different modules, each with its own goals and functionalities. While each module can be installed separately, it is the integration among them that leads to the most powerful results as data and analysis can be shared.

EMS is designed to function at its best in intranets or via web. A Java-driven application, it runs on most operating systems. EMS is built above a PostgreSQL database, but can be integrated with other technically-compatible databases. User-definable data import procedures can allow hook-ups to other systems.

No further software installation (and subsequent maintenance) is required on local computers. EMS can be installed on a server and the application can be accessed via client browsers.

For graphic representations, Macromedia Flash plugin is required.
Data can be exported to Microsoft Excel or Adobe PDF formats (clients must have relevant software installed locally). The schedule manager can be imported into Microsoft Outlook.
